Visibility was less than I expected today (Jan. 2, 2009). It was only around 30 feet, but it was still bright enough to see my way around at the bottom of the wall without a light. It seemed like there were a lot less boot sponges than I remember years ago. I think I only saw 3 today. I remember seeing close to 10 when I first started diving here. I did see 3 or 4 juvenile yelloweye rockfish. This is the first time I've seen them here, but they were too shy for photos. I also saw 4 tiger rockfish. 1/2 of the cloud sponge is now that dead grey colour. The group of yellowtail rockfish at the "pyramid" of rock keeps getting bigger and bigger. The shallows were swarming with thousands of moon jellyfish.
