Here are some pictures from April 12, 2009. It was a rainy day and there was a large swell coming in from somewhere. The current software showed no current for a few hours so I struggled through the waves and swam clear of the rocks. Visibility was only 3-6 feet in the shallows because of all the stirred-up bits. Even 30-40 feet deep, the surge was dragging me back and forth. The current was also pretty strong. It swept me along to the area with all the plumose anemones, tunicate colonies, etc. Here the current was even stronger and seemed to be swirling around in different directions. The visibility also seemed a bit better, but it was still less than 10 feet. On my struggle back to shore against the current, I kept seeing large dark shapes rushing out of the gloom towards me. At the last moment, I could see that they were broken-away pieces of kelp. About half of this swim was spent pulling away these pieces of kelp that had wrapped around my head or body. I don't know if there's such a thing as a relaxing dive at this place.
