I was hoping to take out my boat today (Jan. 24, 2010), but the gales were stirring up the Juan de Fuca/Haro Strait side of Victoria and it was pouring rain in Saanich Inlet so I settled for some shore dives at McKenzie Bight. Visibility was about 30-50 feet. The cloud sponge is still there and doesn't seem to have grown in the last few years. There were lots of small lingcod guarding eggs.

I did a dive with rebreather divers Al and Darin on Feb. 20, 2010. I was hoping to get some big, scenic shots with proper divers for once (no more self-portrait nonsense). Unfortunately, the water was like yellow-brown tea in the shallows which really cut down on the light down deep. The visibility eventually cleared to about 40 feet, but with the reduced light it was hard to judge it very accurately. So here are the grainy pictures. -Not much marine life, but lots of divers with laser beams.
