These photos are from June 1, 2012. I usually avoid diving in Saanich Inlet in Spring because of the plankton blooms, but visibility at McKenzie Bight has been 50-80' for at least the last week. One of the boot sponges (out to the right) has been broken off and is lying about 6 feet away from the base of the wall. I also had a strange sighting of what I'm pretty sure was a trout. It was about 10" long and had spots. It was swimming near the surface in the popular entry-point bay. I was being tossed around by the small waves in the shallows so I didn't get a picture.
