A few years ago, I found a large chain underwater near the rock with the marker. It didn't seem to be attached to anything. I had forgotten about it for awhile, but recently I thought I'd have a good look in that area to see if there was anything nearby that might be from a wreck. I swam out from Saxe Point on Nov. 4, 2016.
I reached the islets and swam along them underwater towards the tip of the main islets. Depths along here ranged from 10-20'. Visibility was 15-20'.
I reached the rock with the marker and had a good look all around it. There were quite a few bottles on the bottom, probably from fishermen over the years.
I found the large chain again. It definitely wasn't attached to anything at either end. I'd guess it was maybe 25' long. It started near where the rock met the sand about 25' deep and ran up along the rocks. I didn't see an anchor or anything in the area that might have come from a wreck.
