It was a fairly decent day for current today (Oct. 10, 2009). It went from a 4-knot ebb to a 2-knot flood in the afternoon so I cautiously tried this spot again. I went in about 1/2-hour before slack and didn't feel much current at all until near the end of the dive when I was on my way back. Visibility was about 15-20 feet, which was better than last time, but still less than I was hoping for. My maximum depth was about 70 feet. I swam out a bit into the channel, but it wasn't getting any deeper. In the bay outside the pass near my entry beach, there was a bit of a kelp forest with swarms of copper rockfish and perch.
