The wind wasn't cooperating during the last few days and most of the coastline along the Strait of Juan de Fuca was blown out. I guess I could have gone to Saanich inlet, but I wanted to see marine life so I came back to Enterprise Channel (Dec. 15, 2008) which was reasonably protected by nearby McMicking Point. The stirred-up winter visibility has arrived, but I was still surprised at just how bad it was (3-6 feet). I somehow found the sewer-pipe reef, but even when I was only 30-40 feet deep, it was too dark to see anything without a light. I had to swim slowly to avoid bumping into anything. At least I brought my close-up lens so I only had to shoot through a few inches of water.
