Dyer Rocks is another place I haven't visited in a few years so I came for a dive on July 10, 2015. As before, I swam out on the surface from Yarrow Point. Visibility in the shallows was 15-20' and 40' or so below 30' deep. I swam down the rocky slope near the islets and it seemed to go a bit deeper than I remember. I remember it bottoming out at 60', but today it was 70-75' deep. There were more rockfish than I remember from previous dives here. There were mostly brown rockfish and some copper and quillback. A school of juvenile yellowtail swam above the rubble near the bottom of the slope. I saw a few octopus dens. As at my Yarrow Point dive last week, the bottom was dotted with more nudibranchs than I'm used to. I was hoping to see some dogfish sharks since mid-July is when I start seeing them in Saanich Inlet, but there were none today. I swam out a bit deeper and towards the Yarrow Point reefs. This rocky area went deeper than 80' and I'm pretty sure it's a continuation of the Yarrow Point reef.
