I've tried coming back to Church Island a couple of times over the last few years, but the swell was never low enough to let me tie my boat up to the shore. Today (Dec. 7, 2014) was one of those rare days with almost flat seas so I took the chance for a dive here. Visibility was worse than expected (about 15'). There seemed to be lots of suspended sediment in the water. I went down to about 90 feet deep and it was almost too dark to see anything without a light. I swam farther South along the wall than I did last time, but the amount of colourful marine life (tunicates, sponges, anemones, hydrocorals, etc.) seemed to decrease the farther I swam. I did see a basket star out there though.
