This is the snorkeling out in front of the Marazul Dive Resort, where we were staying during our second week in Curacao. Like most of the island's coastline, there is no sandy beach here. The shore drops down in a cliff about 20' high. There is a set of steps down to the water at either end of the property. We used the South steps since they were closest to our unit and they were less steep. The coastline fronting the resort is about 220 meters long, but of course you can snorkel farther along the coastline in either direction (a couple of times we swam all the way to Playa Piskado about a kilometer away). We snorkeled here every morning, probably for at least an hour or two. The cliffs drop down underwater at a steep angle to about 15' deep. Swimming North along the coastline, the cliff has lots of soft corals and sea fans. Once we swam South around the point, but the rocks here were suddenly bare, which seemed to be the result of being more exposed to the angle of the waves, which probably occasionally batter everything flat during storms. After Director's Bay, which had a bit more corals, this was my favorite snorkeling spot on Curacao. Maybe it had to with the convenience of basically walking out your door and getting in the water. Unfortunately it's not directly accessible to the public, unless you swim out from the nearest public beach (Playa Forti, which is a short swim from the North).
