This is the place we stayed at during our second week in Curacao. It's up in Westpunt, which is much more quiet and less busy than farther South around Willemstad. Like many other hotels on the island that have the words "dive" or "scuba" in their name, this place doesn't really have anything to do with diving other than direct access to the water. There are no scuba facilities onsite so I rented gear from a dive shop on Playa Kalki a short drive away. The waterfront at this complex is a cliff dropping down to the water. There are 2 sets of steps leading down to the water at either end of the property.
I did 2 dives here. The cliffs drop down underwater to about 15' deep. Then there is a sandy area, which as you swim out starts to be scattered with small coral heads. Soon the bottom is mostly coral (about 20-30' deep) and about 100 meters from shore, the bottom starts to drop away in a steeper slope. I'd guess the angle is about 30 degrees or so, so it's not exactly what I'd call a "drop-off". The marine chart shows this slope going down to about 200' deep. I went down to 110' on my first dive and 80' deep or so on my second. Like at other dives on the island, I found that there was nothing really in the deeper depths that there wasn't more of in the shallower depths (30-60'). I saw the only sting ray that I saw on the island and several barracuda. In one small school of barracuda, I counted 10 of them.
