I came back here on the Inde charter boat on July 23, 2023. I was hoping to re-visit the part of the reef just past the North tip of the islet, since last time that area seemed to have the most current-type life on the rocks. Today though, we were diving off-slack so the current was flowing down over that area. I tried to struggle against it for awhile, but eventually it became too strong to swim against so I spent most of the dive along the wall which is sheltered from the current by the islet. Visibility was much better than last time. Today, it was around 20' in the shallows and 30' or so down on the wall.
So because of the current, I wasn't able to dive the more colourful area off the North tip of the reef, but at least I got to dive the wall area, which is the most geologically-dramatic part of the reef. From a distance, this wall looks pretty bare, but up close there is lots of little stuff like cup corals and red slipper cucumbers. There is also a band of cemented tube worm colonies stretching along the wall between 40-60' deep. I still think this is a pretty decent dive site, but not really a must-see, superstar dive for the area. I'd still come back though, to try and visit some of the other parts of the reef.
