This is the next beach/bay South of the 2-Step/Place of Refuge area. It's the farthest South we went on the island. We entered in the middle of the sandy beach, swam past the reasonable breakers and headed out towards the North point in the area around a ruined dock. This was one of my favorite snorkeling spots during our visit. There was a healthy population of fish around the coral heads and the lava ledge in the surf zone. Dolphins are supposed to often hang out here in the bay, but we didn't see any.
Near the beach the bottom was mostly sand and rubble, but as we swam out farther to the right, the amount of coral gradually increased.
