I haven't been diving on the artificial reef of the G.B. Church for about 12 years. I came back on Feb. 26, 2022 on a second dive-of-the-day on the SEA Dive charter boat. On the way over we saw a few orcas.
Visibility was about 20'. The mooring line was tied to where the bridge used to be. The structure of the bridge was made of wood and it rotted away and collapsed about 15 years ago.
I swam over the big, open cargo holds towards the bow.
I reached to bow and saw the anchor winch. I dropped over the side of the hull and saw the anchor with a copper rockfish sitting on it.
I swam back along the cargo holds towards the bridge area.
I dropped over the stern to have a look at the propeller, but it wasn't there. I seem to remember a propeller from years ago, but I must have imagined it or confused it with another wreck.
I swam over the top of the funnel. The large casing surrounding it is gone. I don't know if it was there when it sunk or if it corroded away since then.
Back to the top of the bridge area, then up the mooring line:
