This is one of the best and most well-known dive sites on the Big Island. This trip, we went snorkeling here a couple of times. We swam both out to the right, where there is a steep drop-off near shore that goes down to 60' to over 100' deep and out to the left, where the area is flatter and shallower. There was a group of spinner dolphins in the bay on one day, but we didn't see any underwater. It's illegal to try and approach them, but that didn't stop a few people from frantically swimming out to them.
